Chicago Mayor’s New Method of Targeting Gun Dealers in Violent Town

Chicago is already known as one of the most violent cities in America, yet Mayor Brandon Johnson has decided the real problem is… gun dealers.

The Brady Campaign has been pressuring city officials to use government purchasing power to force gun shops into stricter compliance. Their latest push targets dealers who supply firearms and ammunition to police and other government agencies.

As usual, it’s easier for politicians and gun‑control groups to blame the tool, a tool used for self‑defense hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of times each year, than to confront the violent criminals who misuse it.

Mayor Johnson now says his office will impose a new set of rules on any gun dealer who wants to do business with the city. He claims it’s simply about ensuring dealers “follow the law.”

So is he admitting the city might already be buying from dealers who don’t follow the law? Or is this just another political move pushed by the Brady Campaign to create new hoops for lawful businesses to jump through?

Gun owners have warned for years that gun‑control advocates never stop shifting the goalposts. “Common sense gun control” always turns into more restrictions, more mandates, and more bureaucratic hurdles for the people who aren’t causing the problem.

This latest procurement scheme is just another attempt to squeeze gun dealers under the guise of “public safety.” At this rate, maybe the mayor will decide officers don’t need firearms at all — just social workers and clipboards.
