A Nevada man has been cleared after a deadly road‑rage confrontation that investigators say was a clear case of self‑defense.
The incident began when a driver accidentally rear‑ended another vehicle and got out to check on the person he had just hit. But instead of a calm exchange, chaos erupted.
Police say Kevin Lozano jumped out of the struck vehicle and chased the driver around his car multiple times. The driver eventually managed to get back inside his vehicle, but Lozano continued the attack, slashing the man’s tires and closing in again.
At that point, the driver exited with a firearm and ordered Lozano to back away. Lozano ignored the commands and lunged toward him, prompting the man to fire.
Lozano was struck, and the shooter immediately attempted to render aid, but Lozano died at the scene.
Police detained the man briefly, then released him after determining he had stood his ground in lawful self‑defense.
